ABOUT US

Chicago Composers Orchestra was launched in 2010 by a team of performers, composers and new music advocates. We are the largest new music ensemble in Chicago and one of few orchestras worldwide to place exclusive focus on living composers. We feature composers from across the country and highlight the work of local artists, giving voice to Chicago’s vibrant, rich, and intensely diverse community of musicians. We intentionally program works by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and gender non-conforming composers, featuring a wide range of cultural backgrounds and personal stories.

Since our founding, CCO has produced over 50 concerts and events throughout Chicago, worked with over 100 living composers and presented more than 110 world premieres.
